Official Taps
Privacy, plainly.
Effective October 5, 2026 ยท Draft pending review
Official Taps runs the pages you reach by tapping an Official Taps card or scanning its code, and this website. This policy covers both.
- No cookies on card pages
- We never sell your information
- No ads and no tracking across other sites
- Your IP address is not stored in our database
- Private feedback is erased from our system after 12 months
- We never learn whether you post a Google review
01What we collect
When a card page opens we record the time, which card was used, whether it was a tap or a scan, your browser's self-description (its "user agent"), and your approximate country as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address in our database. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.
If you send private feedback, we collect what you type: your message and, only if you choose to give them, your name and an email address or phone number. If you contact us through this website, we collect your name, business name, contact details and message.
02How we use and share it
Private feedback goes by email to Official Taps. If the business whose card you used has asked to receive it directly, it also goes by email to that business. Your contact details are used only to reply to you about your message. Visit counts are seen only by Official Taps. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Service providers that process this information for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database and email delivery), Google (the Gmail inbox that receives feedback emails), and the email provider of a business that receives feedback directly.
03Google
If you choose to leave a Google review, you leave our pages and Google's privacy policy applies to what you do there. We do not learn whether you posted a review.
04Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies on customer pages and do not track you across other websites. Because we do not track across sites, we do not change our behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
05Keeping and erasing
Our system keeps private feedback for 12 months, then removes its content (your message, name and contact details) automatically. Each message is also emailed to our inbox; we delete those email copies when you ask. To ask us to remove feedback you sent, contact us with the business name and the approximate date, and we will remove it from our system and our inbox. If that business received your message directly, its copy is in the business's own email; we cannot erase it, but we will pass your request on to the business.
06Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above.
